Underground fire causes downtown power outage in Davenport

Davenport Fire Department

An underground fire caused a power outage in downtown Davenport.

Davenport Fire crews were at the scene, around Third and Harrison streets, around 4:20 pm. Officials say an underground utility vault fire caused a power outage in the greater downtown area.

As of Tuesday evening, Harrison Street from Fourth to Second streets, plus Third Street, from Ripley to Main Streets, are closed.

Officials say people should treat all intersections without working traffic signals as 4-way stops.
