Voters can prepare by finding their precinct caucus location and then go on January 15th.
"When they check in, there will be a list to check to make sure that there are Republican. And if they're not a registered Republican, they do have the opportunity to register as a Republican. You'll need to have the correct forms of ID. However, if they do that, show a photo ID, and if the address is not current on the photo ID, they will need something to prove their residency like a lease, utility bill, bank statement, paycheck, or government check."
Besides voting for a presidential candidate, McNulty says the Scott County GOP will also elect precinct chairs and elect delegates to attend the county convention in February.
"We're looking for 200 volunteers to work the caucuses in Scott County. And we're doing well, but we can use more. And if someone has thought about getting involved before, it's a great time to do it with a big presidential caucus. It's exciting, and it's part of making history."
Iowa voters can use their addresses to look up their precincts on the Iowa Secretary of State's website. Then use the Iowa GOP caucus site to find their precinct caucus location, listed by county.
