 A blocked street in Moline is going to stay blocked all winter. Today the Illinois Department of Transportation announced River Drive at I-74 will NOT re-open as planned this month.

   Residents and businesses in Galesburg may soon start paying a new fee. Monday night the city council will discuss setting up a stormwater utility.

Seven months after work began, a local landmark will celebrate the completion of its renovations. Thursday morning, Southpark Mall in Moline will hold a ribbon cutting, unveil a new play area, and feature entertainment and give-aways all day.

A key project in the multi-year effort to reduce congestion on John Deere Road is nearly finished. The new overpass at 38th Street in Moline is open, but its connection to the nearby stores and restaurants is not yet done.

A 60-year-old pine tree from a backyard in the Quad Cities is now part of a holiday tradition. Today, a crew lifted into place a Christmas tree at the iWireless Center in Moline. 

The cost of garbage and recycling may go up for residents of Moline. Tonight the city council is scheduled to vote on a staff proposal to raise the monthly cost by a-dollar-80.

Hamilton School in Moline is getting a complete makeover -- name change included. The Moline School District is asking local residents to complete a survey about a new name for the elementary school that's currently under construction.

Christmas has come early to the Quad Cities. Today Illinois Governor Pat Quinn came to town to announce the state will provide low interest loans to both Moline and Rock Island for major upgrades to their water and sewer systems.

Engineers will soon start designing the replacement for a historic bridge in the Quad Cities. Last night, members of the Moline city council agreed to hire a consulting firm to oversee the first steps in building a new Sylvan Island Bridge.

The Sylvan Island Bridge leads to historic Sylvan Island, where residents and tourists bike, run, hike, and picnic. 

The bridge has been closed for the past year, blocking access to the island.
