Golfers from 11- to 18-years-old will compete in the John Deere Classic Junior Open over the next four days. The Iowa PGA and title sponsor, the John Deere Classic, will hold the tournament at TPC Deere Run in Silvis.
Tess Goudy, Junior Golf Director for the Iowa PGA, says around 130 kids and teenagers have signed up. Tomorrow and Sunday, more than a dozen boys and girls, will golf nine holes per round. Unlike last year, they will be allowed to have caddies. Then on Monday and Tuesday, five divisions of older golfers will compete, playing 18 holes both days.

The John Deere Classic Junior Open is just one of 16 tournaments in the Iowa PGA season for young golfers. The organization's members include residents of Iowa and parts of northwestern Illinois, including the Quad Cities.
