Kent Barnds, Vice President of Enrollment says three things had a significant impact on recruitment and enrollment.
"Augustana Possible met 100% of demonstrated financial need for a large portion of our applicant pool. Second, we had a very intentional approach to bringing a global population to Augustana. And then the last thing I would say is we spent a lot of time refocusing our attention on what we refer to as 'greater illinois.'"
When looking forward to next fall, Barnds hopes to enroll around 650 first year students and 60 transfer students.
"In order to maintain enrollment of about 2,500 undergraduate students we would like to have a steady entering class. We would prefer not to have large and then small classes, instead we look for steady classes."
The newest class is made up of 723 first-year students and 67 transfers.
