Black Hawk College
Doctor Thomas is currently the provost at Oklahoma City Community College, and previously served as interim president and vice president for student affairs.
He's also worked at several colleges in Texas and Louisiana, as Dean of Student Success, director of admissions, distance education advisor, and instructor.
Also at Thursday night's meeting, trustees approved the retirement of current Black Hawk College president Tim Wynes after leading the college for five years.
Black Hawk serves all or part of nine Illinois counties, with locations in Moline, East Moline, Rock Island, Galva, and Kewanee.
