'Talking Art' with Jon Lovett

Jon Lovett, host of the irreverent podcast Lovett or Leave It, will be recording his show in front of a live audience at Hancher Auditorium in Iowa City on Thursday, January 30, 2020 at 8PM.

Joined by a panel of comedians, actors, musicians, and journalists, Jon Lovett discusses politics and other newsworthy events each week, asserting his progressive viewpoint through quizzes, nuanced discussion, and other means (a rant wheel!), having a raucous time along the way.

A former presidential speechwriter, he founded Crooked Media in 2017 along with Jon Favreau and Tommy Vietor, in order to have informative and entertaining conversations about politics and to inspire others to action.

Listen to our conversation here with Jon Lovett about why humor is an important way in which to address serious political and social problems, and other saucy topics.

Tickets can be obtained online with prices ranging from $39.50-$99.  The show runs 90 minutes without an intermission.  Hancher Auditorium is located at 141 Park Road in Iowa City.

Carolyn Martin joined WVIK as a host of Talking Art in 2017. A long-time fan of NPR programming with a love of storytelling and all art forms, she is thrilled to have the opportunity to speak with creative people who beautify our community and make the Quad Cities region an even better place to live.
