Genesis Health Group will open a mass vaccination clinic in Davenport on March 23rd. It'll consolidate two clinics that have already been inoculating eligible patients at the former Dick's Sporting Goods store on Elmore Avenue. Dr. Kurt Andersen is the Chief Medical Officer of Genesis Health System. He says the goal is to vaccinate more patients in a shorter period of time. The vaccinations will only be available by appointment to Genesis patients who live in Scott County.
After vaccinating those 65 and older, the next group will be able to schedule their own appointments through the My Genesis Patient Portal, or by registering at GenesisHealth.com/MyGenesis.
The next eligibility group includes people age 64 and younger with medical conditions who are at a higher risk of severe illness from COVID-19.
Dr. Andersen says the timing and frequency of appointments will all depend on vaccine supply received from the state.
The Genesis Health Group mass vaccination clinic will also feature a selfie station.
