Congressman Loebsack Campaigns for His Possible Successor

Marianna Bacallao, WVIK News

As he prepares to retire, Iowa Congressman Dave Loebsack stopped in the Quad Cities this week to campaign for Joe Biden and his hoped-for successor, Rita Hart. He's represented the Second District for 14 years.
"I'm leaving 7-0, and after this next election, Rita Hart's going to be 1-0."

He says that even with everything that's happened this year, he doesn't regret his decision to retire.

"I'm actually telling my colleagues in Washington D.C. who say they're going to miss me, I'm telling them—and it's true—after a few months with Rita Hart, they won't miss me at all. She's wonderful."

Hart is running against Republican Mariannette Miller-Meeks.

Loebsack campaigned for Biden and Hart yesterday in Davenport, Burlington, and Keokuk, and visited Ottumwa today.
