A Busy Year for the Iowa Legislature

On Midwest Week, property taxes, sports betting, and how to nominate judges were were just a few of the issues covered by this year's session of the Iowa legislature.

Herb Trix's guest is Erin Murphy, bureau chief in Des Moines for Lee Enterprises, and his work appears here in the Quad City Times and Muscatine Journal.

A native of Detroit, Herb Trix began his radio career as a country-western disc jockey in Roswell, New Mexico (“KRSY, your superkicker in the Pecos Valley”), in 1978. After a stint at an oldies station in Topeka, Kansas (imagine getting paid to play “Louie Louie” and “Great Balls of Fire”), he wormed his way into news, first in Topeka, and then in Freeport Illinois.
