"Sweatstock: The Music Festival You Don’t Want to Miss!"

In this episode of WHQC, host Marc Zyla is joined by Al Sweet and Chrissy Boyer from All Sweat Productions as they gear up for the highly anticipated "Sweatstock" music festival. Set to take place on August 10-11 at Schwiebert Park in Rock Island, this two-day celebration of music promises to be a feast for the senses, featuring a mix of original bands and heartfelt tribute acts that pay homage to the iconic sounds of Woodstock.

Join us as Al and Crissy reflect on the festival's evolution, sharing nostalgic tales from the inaugural Sweat Stock held five years ago, and how it has blossomed into a larger event this year. With excitement in the air, they reveal the lineup of incredible performances, including a special opening by Crissy’s daughter, Charlotte Blu, and notable tribute acts like Winterland, Family Stone, and a headlining set from Joe Marcinek, accompanied by Jason Hann from String Cheese Incident. This episode not only celebrates the upcoming festival but also the collaborative spirit of All Sweat Productions, which began with a Queen tribute show and has since become a cornerstone of the local music scene.

But that’s not all! The conversation extends beyond Sweatstock as Al and Chrissy share insights into other upcoming events, including a Pink Floyd tribute and their annual "Big Swingin' Christmas" show. Plus, listeners will get a glimpse into the vibrant music landscape of the Quad Cities, from the Alternating Currents festival to local jam sessions. Through personal anecdotes and shared experiences, this episode highlights the passion that drives musicians and organizers alike, painting a vivid picture of a community united by the love of live music.
