UPDATE: At 3 p.m. the Law Enforcement Alerting Platform sent out a cancel alert saying Aoci Blessing has been found and is safe
Local authorities are searching for a 4-year-old girl who was taken from a stolen vehicle on Thursday morning, Jan. 16th.
Rock Island Police found the vehicle shortly after it was stolen, but the child and car seat were nowhere to be found. The vehicle was located at 8th Street and 15th Avenue in Rock Island.
4-year-old Aoci Blessing is a Black girl, approximately three feet tall and 50 pounds, who was last seen wearing a pink jacket, pink boots, and blue pants.
Chief of Rock Island Police Timothy McCloud addressed the public about the missing girl and stolen vehicles in a press conference Thursday morning.
“Probably the one that we're looking for the most right now is a white Dodge Dart with an Illinois license plate, EG92693. We believe that from city cameras, we were able to see the vehicle traveling with another white vehicle," McCloud said. "We have not been able to verify if this is the other vehicle, but that's our primary focus right now."
The Chief says other vehicles may be involved in the case.
