A 16-year-old male student at Davenport North High School was arrested today, Wednesday, November 20th, for carrying a weapon on school grounds.
The high school’s Davenport Police resource officer received info that a student was in possession of a firearm, then called the student out of their classroom to meet. A weapon was confiscated, no threats were made, and there was no lockdown.
On Monday, the Davenport School Board will hold a meeting to discuss a plan to purchase and utilize weapon-detection and door-monitoring systems in all secondary schools in the district.
