Today, (Wednesday, Oct. 9th), the Rock Island Parks and Recreation Department is hosting a “Party in the Park”. From 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., people can participate in bounce houses, face paintings, and caricature artists at Upper Longview Park, 18th Avenue and 17th Street.
There will be free hot dogs and Kona Ice while supplies last.
Starting at 6:30, there will be a historic Walking Lantern Parade. Before the parade, the Rock Island Downtown Library will host a lantern-making activity. Cardboard and instructions are available for pickup at the downtown location, at 401 19th St.
