The CARE Club at Galesburg Junior Senior High School is hosting its first annual STREAKS 9/11 Memorial Stair climb.
The memorial will take place at 7 a.m. at the Galesburg Junior Senior High School F&M Stadium football field.
This event was put into place to honor the firefighters who heroically climbed the staircases inside the World Trade Centers on that tragic day in 2001.
Students and staff will climb 2,000 stairs alongside the Galesburg Fire Department and the Galesburg Police Department to commemorate firefighters who put their lives on the line on September 11th, 2001.
