Justice Lisa Holder White and the Illinois Supreme Court are appointing Justice Eugene Doherty to the Fourth District Appellate Court.
Justice Doherty was assigned to the Fourth District Court in 2022, with a term expiring on December 4th, 2024. He took over Justice Holder White as she joined the Supreme Court.
He served on the bench in the 17th Circuit from 2007 to 2022, winning elections in 2008, 2014 and 2020.
He is running unopposed for the seat in this November's election.
The Fourth District Appellate Court comprises 41 counties, including Carroll, Henderson, Henry, Jo Daviess, Knox, Mercer, Rock Island, Stephenson, Warren, and Whiteside.
