Davenport fills two city positions

The city of Davenport is selecting Samuel Huff IV to serve as its Corporation Counsel starting September 3rd.

Huff is currently employed at Deere & Company as an attorney for litigation and evidence management and collection.

Denise Hnytka will fill the new role of chief communications officer on August 19th.

Denise Hnytka will fill the new role of chief communications officer on August 19th.

In a press release Huff says, "“I am truly honored to be selected as the Corporation Counsel for the City of Davenport, and I extend my heartfelt gratitude to the Council for their support," Huff said. "This is an incredible opportunity to serve our community, uphold the rule of law, and work collaboratively to address the challenges we face. I am excited to bring my passion and dedication to this role, and I look forward to making a positive impact together with all of you."

The city is also filling a newly created position of chief communications officer with Denise Hnytka. She worked at MindFire Communications as their public relations counsel. She also worked in broadcast journalism as an anchor for WQAD-TV for 11 years.

In a press release, Hnytka says, "It’s an honor to join the talented team at the City of Davenport. I look forward to working alongside leadership to help Davenport tell its story with authenticity and transparency."

Hnytka will start her new role on August 19th.
