Quad Cities Health Officials Say "Don't Wait on Restrictions"

COVID-19 cases in the Quad Cities have surpassed a previous record set in July. There are now over 71-hundred total cases, and 6 additional deaths.
Ed Rivers, Director of the Scott County Health Department, says that's because people aren't wearing masks and maintaining social distance. Iowa has been more lax than Illinois, but he says that's no excuse.

"Restrictions only work if people follow them, and if people follow them, transmission is low. What we're asking you to do is do it yourself. Don't wait on restrictions. Don't wait on the state to act. Do it yourself."

During a virtual press conference today (tues), Rivers stressed the importance of people in the Quad Cities washing their hands, keeping their distance, and wearing masks.
