- Candidates for the Davenport City Council will address voters and answer questions Thursday night at the Rogalski Center on the St. Ambrose University campus. All four of the alderman-at-large candidates plan to attend, along with candidates running in contested wards 2, 3, 4, and 6. Tonight's event begins at 6:30 p.m. and will last until 8. It is free and open to the public.
- Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds talked on the phone yesterday with both President Donald Trump and EPA administrator Scott Pruitt about a controversial proposal to scale back the Renewable Fuel Standard, reducing the mandate for Iowa-grown biofuels.
- Good timing is essential for people to benefit from emergency housing grants. Yesterday in Rock Island County, township officials announced they've received nearly $27,000 to pay for one-time, emergency needs. The federal government distributes "Emergency Food and Shelter" funding based on the unemployment rate in each county.
- Nearly three decades after he disappeared, Moline police are trying once again to figure out what happened to Jerry Wolking. He was 52 years old when he was last seen on October 18, 1990.
