Aquatic Manager Mike Firth says his goal is to come up with a five to ten year budget plan.
"Being able to tell, if these things fail or when they fail, this is how we plan to replace them with this equipment. And that way it's not a 'our pants are on fire, we need to figure this out to get the pool running again,' but instead have things kind of planned out for each piece of equipment that's down there."
The city owns the pool at United Township High School, and shares it with the school.
Firth says the consultant will evaluate all the equipment, plus consider how health codes and industry standards for water treatment have changed since it first opened in 1978.
