Antonio Aguto will replace Lieutenant. General Thomas James, who has served as commanding general since October, 2018.
In addition to the change of command ceremony, First Army will host a ceremony for Aguto's promotion from major general to lieutenant general.
And a third ceremony will be held to celebrate General James' retirement from the Army.
As part of the ceremony, First Army Soldiers were scheduled to conduct ceremonial cannon fire on Wednesday during a full-dress rehearsal. Cannon fire will also be conducted during the ceremony on Thursday after 9:30 a.m.
