Crossing the Mississippi River may take an extra few minutes this week, but only at night.
The Illinois Department of Transportation says a contractor will wash the approaches to the I-74 bridge between Moline and Bettendorf, starting tonight (tues) through Thursday night.
Motorists can expect lane closures in Moline from 9 pm until 5 am, for a total of three nights.
For the past week, the contractor has been working from the parking lots under the bridge to clean the underside of the structure.
