National Weather Service
the Mississippi River in the QC Friday afternoon

From Dubuque the Quad Cities, the Mississippi River is still rising.

The National Weather Service says the river Friday is 5.8 feet over flood stage in Dubuque, and should crest on Saturday at 6 feet over flood stage.

At Fulton, the river has reached 4 feet over flood stage, and is expected to crest at 5 feet over, on Sunday and Monday.

The Mississippi is 4 feet over flood stage Friday in the Quad Cities, with a crest predicted on Monday and Tuesday 5.5 feet over flood stage.

A native of Detroit, Herb Trix began his radio career as a country-western disc jockey in Roswell, New Mexico (“KRSY, your superkicker in the Pecos Valley”), in 1978. After a stint at an oldies station in Topeka, Kansas (imagine getting paid to play “Louie Louie” and “Great Balls of Fire”), he wormed his way into news, first in Topeka, and then in Freeport Illinois.
