Carl Sandburg College Extends Reilly's Contract

Carl Sandburg College

Trustees of Carl Sandurg College are happy with the job their president is doing. Thursday night, the board approved a four-year contract extension for Dr. Seamus Reilly.

The new contract goes into effect on July 1st, and continues through June of 2024.

Reilly is the college's 7th president, and was first hired in 2018.

In a press release, Board Chairperson Gayla Pacheco says, “Dr. Reilly has done a wonderful job and is a valuable part of the Sandburg community. We are pleased with the work he has done in his two years with our students, faculty and staff, and the relationships he has built throughout our district makes him the right person to continue leading Carl Sandburg College for the next four years and beyond.”

A native of Detroit, Herb Trix began his radio career as a country-western disc jockey in Roswell, New Mexico (“KRSY, your superkicker in the Pecos Valley”), in 1978. After a stint at an oldies station in Topeka, Kansas (imagine getting paid to play “Louie Louie” and “Great Balls of Fire”), he wormed his way into news, first in Topeka, and then in Freeport Illinois.
