A restaurant famous for kids' parties is now serving meals and craft beer to college students and young professionals. Last night, Happy's Joe's and Three Corners Development Group held a grand opening at the new Pizza Grille. It's located just west of Western Illinois University's riverfront campus in Moline.
Co-owner and daughter of Happy Joe, KristelWhitty-Ersan (air-SHAWN), says Three Corners owns and operates the new location as a franchise. It's on the ground floor of the company's apartment complex called The Mills at Riverbend Commons.
Happy Joe's Pizza Grille at the Mills isn't like any of its other restaurants. She says it features 20 flat-screen TVs and has an industrial look.
Whitty-Ersan says there are plenty of parking spaces, and in the summer, an outdoor seating area will be open.
And the opening of the full-service restaurant created about 40 jobs.
