New Tenants for Vacant Historic Building

A vacant landmark in downtown Davenport will soon get some new tenants. Two companies now in Bettendorf will move later this year into the Schneff building, at the corner of 3rd and Brady Streets.
Tom Terronez is the founder and owner of Terrostar Inter-active Media which specializes in web design and online marketing, and Medix Dental which installs and supports computers and other technology for dentists.
He wanted to move downtown, and he liked the former bank and jewelry store.
His companies now employ 17 people.

Terronez also wanted to move to downtown Davenport to start a partnership with the Eastern Iowa Community Colleges that will soon be located just across the street.

Also will partner with Davenport School District's new Creative Arts Academy.

He's now finalizing construction plans, and hopes to move in on the third floor of the Schneff building by the end of the year. His landlord hopes to attract some retail businesses to the first floor, and maybe make the second floor residential.

A native of Detroit, Herb Trix began his radio career as a country-western disc jockey in Roswell, New Mexico (“KRSY, your superkicker in the Pecos Valley”), in 1978. After a stint at an oldies station in Topeka, Kansas (imagine getting paid to play “Louie Louie” and “Great Balls of Fire”), he wormed his way into news, first in Topeka, and then in Freeport Illinois.
