Help from the Quad Cities will soon be on the way to Texas, and victims of Hurricane Harvey. Thursday the Rock Island police and fire departments donated cleaning supplies to Valley Construction which is planning to send two semi-trailers filled with relief supplies to the Houston area.

Police Chief, Jeff VenHuizen says he was contacted by the company last week.

"Asking if the police and fire departments would participate and help them out to fill the trailers. And true to fashion, our employees rose to the challenge and came up with all these supplies."
