The Quad Cities is now the headquarters of a trans-continental bike trail. The convention and visitors bureau has agreed to handle administration, finances, and marketing for the American Discovery Trail - it extends 68-hundred miles from California to Delaware.
Bureau president and ceo, Joe Taylor, says trail directors like our central location.
Taylor offered to host the trail headquarters, formerly based in Washington D.C., when its one employee resigned last year.
The American Discovery Trail goes through Cedar Falls and Muscatine, before traveling along the riverfront trails in Davenport, Rock Island, and Moline, then heads east along the Hennepin Canal.
