Active duty soldiers and veterans in the Quad Cities now have a mobile-friendly way to receive business discounts. Founded by Marine veteran Aaron Serrano, Military Cost Cutters is a phone app that allows veterans and those in the military or reserves to see which local businesses will give them discounts.
Chief Operating Officer Todd Morris says veterans are often prone to identity theft--but the Military Cost Cutters app makes sure their identity is secure.
The app was created in October.
Morris says the app has been downloaded 4,000 times so far and 75 businesses are participating.
The app is free for iPhone and Android, and users can register by calling the Military Cost Cutters office, or by contacting the Scott County Veterans Affairs office.
