Iowa voters will caucus at 99 satellite locations around the world along with their regular precinct caucus sites. And they'll help select the party's presidential nominee beginning in February.
The Iowa Democratic Party announced it has approved 71 extra caucus sites in Iowa, 25 in other states, and three in foreign countries.
The goal is to increase participation for those who can't travel to their assigned precincts on February 3rd, or are serving outside the state.
Iowa voters will be able to go to the satellite caucuses during extended hours as well.
Many of the 71 satellite caucuses in Iowa will be held at nursing homes, workplaces, union halls, and college campuses.
Troy Price, Iowa Democratic Party Chair, says the goal is "to make these caucuses the most accessible in the party’s history."
In the Quad Cities area, democratic satellite caucuses will be held at the Humility of Mary Center in Davenport, the LULAC Club in Davenport, Muscatine Community College, and Scott Community College in Riverdale.
The three foreign satellite caucuses are France, Scotland, and the Republic of Georgia.
The out of state locations include two in Chicago, four in Arizona, and four in Florida. The full list of approved satellite locations is posted below. And people may pre-register HERE.
