This year's Christmas tree will be decorated in time for the “Lighting on the Commons” later this month.
Kevin Snodgrass is the Director of Operations at the Vibrant. He says the tree was donated.
"It was donated by the Regency Condo Association in East Moline. It was the last tree that they had in their association that was getting to large for the front yard."
Snodgrass says the tree was shorter upon arrival.
"We broke off about 5 foot off the top, on the drive down here. It happens, things like that happen, but it's a very good looking tree."
By the time the "Lighting on the Commons" is held on Saturday November 19th , it will be decorated with 30,000 lights, like it has every year for over 25 years.
With the help of a City of Moline police escort, Marty's Tree Service, and a crane from Hampton Cranes... the tree was successfully delivered and installed on Wednesday.
