With help from Hampton Cranes, Quad City Arts is installing new sculptures at various locations in the area. This is the month each year when it replaces some of the previous year's featured works, outside government buildings, libraries, private businesses, and in parks.
Visual Art Director, Dawn Wohlford-Metallo, says Quad City Arts began the program in 2002, and each year cities can decide to keep one permanently.
"When people see art in a community they know that the city leaders value culture and they take pride in their community. When sculpture is around, or murals, or other kids of amenities people feel good about their surroundings and then they want to live there."
And the sculptures are very popular sites for people to take selfies.
Wohlford-Metallo says some of the artists are local, but others come from across the Midwest.
