A collection of more than 90 paintings by some distinguished American artists is making its way to the Figge Art Museum in Davenport.

The museum announced Thursday its next major exhibition, For America: Paintings from the National Academy of Design, which will be on view Feb. 20, 2021, through May 16, 2021.

For America is a traveling exhibit of works by members of the National Academy of Art, an honor society based in New York City.

The pieces span two centuries, from 1810 to 2010.

Each artist will have two paintings on display: a work that is representative of their style and a portrait of the artist that was either created as a self-portrait or painted by one of their contemporaries.

For America is the second installment funded by the Figge's Major Exhibitions Endowment. The first was French Moderns: Monet to Matisse, 1850-1950, which ran at the Figge last October to January.

The Figge also announced Thursday the museum will offer free admission to everyone this Saturday through Sunday, May 19.

The free admission coincides with the final days of Louis Comfort Tiffany: Treasures from the Driehaus Collection, an exhibit of works by stained glass artist and jewelry designer Louis Comfort Tiffany.
