Carolyn Martin talks with Laura Wriedt and Brian Allen about “The Big Picture” program created by the Figge Art Museum.

This outreach program allows elementary, middle, and high school students to receive free, hands-on and didactic instruction, connecting their curriculum topics to art.
Last year over 30,000 local students, equally served between our surrounding Illinois and Iowa school districts, received this enhanced instruction. In addition, the Figge’s “Big Picture: In the House” summer program offers free drop-in classes.
The Figge Art Museum has compiled numerous topics to enrich student’s education in math, science, social studies, language arts, visual art classes and more. Detailed unit descriptions are available online.
If you would like more information on how your school or organization can become a part of “The Big Picture” program, contact Laura Wriedt by email or calling (563) 326-7804 x 2047.
