The nonstop flight will be provided by Avelo Airlines twice a week, on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
Justine Paradiso is the vice president of programs and events for the Dubuque Chamber of Commerce. She says the new route will help fill the needs of the region.
"It is catering to the need that we see in this area for air service to different parts of this country. We realize that this is an ammenity that workforce needs, and as a chamber of commerce, our workforce is one of our major priorities."
American Airlines stopped its service to Dubuque in 2022, citing pilot shortages. Last March, Avelo, a fairly new airline offering low cost flights to small airports, began nonstop flights between Dubuque and Orlando.
"We had started a partnership with them, looking to restore some sort of air service to Dubuque, after we lost our commercial air service, and they've been a wonderful partner in that."
One-way fares for the Las Vegas route start at $69.00.
