Director of Parks and Recreation Chad Dyson says it would be built between the lodge and the parking lot, and where the tennis courts used to be.
"When we say nature playground, it's different from a traditional deck and slide structure in that it has more natural elements - climbers, wood-type stuff, stones used as actual play features - to mimic the natural environment."
The 1.7 acre playground would be elevated to protect it from most floods, to the level of ten feet above flood stage.
Dyson says if the city council approves the plans Wednesday night, then the city would ask for bids. Construction could start in the fall with completion early next year.
The estimated cost is 197,000 dollars.
