Strong northeasterly winds develop Saturday night allowing for drifting over east-west roads.

Previous version:

The National Weather Service in the Quad Cities says there has been a northward shift in the forecast for heavier snow in our area, with snowfall amounts reduced slightly across the region. Forecasters still expect areas north of I-80 to receive 2 to 5 inches of snow, with more snow to the north.

The snow is expected to be dry and fluffy, and therefore prone to blowing around as strong northeasterly winds develop Saturday afternoon an evening. Snowdrifts on east-west roads will make travel hazardous.
