Talking Art with Jordan D. Schnitzer

The exhibition POP Power fromWarhol to Koons: Masterworks from the Collections of Jordan D. Schnitzer and his Family Foundation is on display at the Figge Art Museum in Davenport, IA through September 19, 2021. An energetic show exploding with color and verve, over 100 works by Pop Art pioneers such as Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein, and Claes Oldenburg are on display side by side with works by more contemporary Neo-Pop artists, including Keith Haring, Jeff Koons and others.

The Pop aesthetic captured the attention of our world beginning in the 1960’s, and it continues to delight and stimulate both our imaginations and the content of our conversations. Thanks to a collaboration with Jordan D. Schnitzer and the Jordan Schnitzer Family Foundation, iconic pieces from the nation’s largest private collection of Pop and Neo-Pop prints and multiples is available for viewing in the Quad Cities.

Listen to the conversation here with contemporary art collector Jordan D. Schnitzer about the importance of stewardship in the arts, the philosophy behind his extensive exhibition and lending program, and the impact he feels art has on the quality of people’s lives.

The Figge Art Museum is located at 225 W. Second St. in Davenport and is open Tues-Wed 10am-5pm, Thurs 10am-8pm, Fri-Sat 10am-5pm and Sun 12-5pm. A variety of associated programming and events are scheduled and free tours of the exhibition are available. Don’t miss this joyous and high-wattage show!
