Fire has damaged a historic building in Davenport. The lodge on Credit Island is smoldering, with smoke billowing from the open roof. Firefighters are still spraying water on it to make sure it's out and doesn't reignite. The fire department responded after someone reported a fire on the island around 8 o'clock this morning.
Chief Lynn Washburn says she's not sure if the building can be saved. Most of the roof is gone. The city renovated the 100-year-old lodge in 2011.
