Black Hawk College has broken ground on a 3 million dollar addition to its east campus in Kewanee. The new construction at Building B will include two biology labs and a combination chemistry and physics lab.
Chemistry Professor, Alan Abbot, says the current labs were built in the 1970's and needed to be updated.
Abbot says the 84-hundred square feet of new space will also give the faculty more options when it comes to teaching students.
The addition is scheduled to be finished in time for students next fall and that the labs' progress can be tracked at Black Hawk College's website.
