Visitors can use Marriott Rewards at Hotel Blackhawk

Visitors from around the world who need a place to stay in downtown Davenport can now make reservations through Marriott hotels. Yesterday, Hotel Blackhawk announced it's become an Autograph Collection hotel, a new Marriott "brand" launched in 2010.

General Manager, Tim Heim, says Hotel Blackhawk and all its services are the same. "It gives us access to Marriott's online reservation system while preserving our independence and integrity. It's very exciting for the hotel."

New computer software and a different reservation system had to be installed before Hotel Blackhawk officially became part of Marriott's Autograph Collection. "We changed our property management system and built a new web site. It's like building a whole new hotel, but nothing will change internally."

Only 40 hotels around the world are listed as Autograph Collection Hotels on Marriott's web site, and 26 of them are located in the United States. The new affiliation also means lodgers can use their Marriott Rewards points at Hotel Blackhawk.
