Unemployment has fallen again in the Quad Cities - from 7.4 per cent at this time a year ago, to 6 per cent in February.
Tom Austin, from the Illinois Department of Employment Security, says the jobless rate in February was also about half a percentage point lower than January.
The last time our February rate was this low was in 2008, when it dropped to 5.1 per cent.
Unemployment was 6.6 per cent in both Rock Island and Henry counties, and 7.1 per cent in Mercer County.
Statewide in Illinois, February was the 12th month in a row that unemployment rates fell in all 14 major metropolitan areas. Rates also dropped in all 102 counties for the 11th month in a row.
