The baseball stadium in downtown Davenport will continue to be called Modern Woodmen Park for another ten years. The Rock Island-based fraternal financial services organization has decided to extend its naming rights agreement with the Quad Cities River Bandits.
Modern Woodmen spokeswoman Michelle Opsahl says the original ten-year agreement signed in 2007 included an option to extend it for another ten years.
"We think the ballpark is such an incredible attraction in the Quad Cities - it's family friendly, it's affordable, it's fun, and it's really high quality. So I think that being able to support it - it's a perfect fit."
And she says supporting the team is part of Modern Woodmen's focus on its home community - the Quad Cities.
Under the original agreement, Modern Woodmen paid 200,000 dollars a year for the naming rights. The extension will cost 250,000 dollars a year.
