The level of the Mississippi River has fallen slightly during the past few days, but it remains several feet over flood stage from Dubuque to Muscatine.

The National Weather Service says the river has fallen just one to two-tenths of a foot at Dubuque and Clinton this week, and will stay more than three feet over flood stage at both locations through next week.

Downstream at the Quad Cities, the Mississippi has dropped three-tenths of a foot since Sunday and is now four feet over flood stage. Starting Friday it should drop about one foot through next week.

And in Muscatine, the river will hold at 4.3 feet over flood stage through the weekend, then begin to fall slowly.
