The city celebrated its 150th anniversary with a three day party and 10,000 people. Since it was so successful, spokesman Tory Brecht says the city council now plans to host a festival annually. But first, Moline needs a name for it.
"We had some internal meetings and I saw some that I'm like 'man I wish I had been that creative and come up with that' but suffice it to say, yes there are some that I think are real contenders."
Brecht hopes the annual festival helps revitalize the downtown.
"One of our goals here as we continue to bring people to live and work in Moline is we want things for them to do. And we have a proud tradition of having excellent music, excellent art, and this fit just naturally into that."
Moline will accept name suggestions until February 24th, through a surveyon their website.
