Ribbon Cutting for Jetty Park

WVIK News

City officials gathered on Monday to celebrate the newest attraction in downtown Bettendorf. Jetty Park is located on the riverfront, at the Isle Casino Hotel, and just upstream from the I-74 bridge.

Mayor Bob Gallagher says the park is the result of a partnership of the city, the casino hotel, and downtown business owners.

"This is a part of the creation of a sense of place in Bettendorf. This'll tie to the urban park that'll be under the new I-74 bridge - a gateway into our downtown. This is going to be a great opportunity for us to work together over the next four to five years."

Nancy Ballenger, general manager of the Isle Casino Hotel, says they first started thinking about a possible park when the Isle casino moved off the boat, and onto land, in 2016. And when the weather's nice, it's a great place to watch construction of the new I-74 bridge, or even for family reunions or small weddings.

Jetty Park is also ADA accessible for people who want to go fishing.
