The Army Sustainment Command, based on Arsenal Island, now has a new boss. Thursday during a change of command ceremony, Major General Steven Shapiro replaced Major General Duane Gamble.
Presiding at the ceremony was General Gustave Perna, commanding general of the Army Materiel Command.
Shapiro comes to Arsenal Island from Germany, where he served as commanding general of the 21st Theater Support Command.
Gamble took command of ASC two years ago, and his new assignment will be in Washington D.C. as the Army Deputy Chief of Staff, for logistics.
