Moline Fatal Shooting Name Released

WVIK News

A Moline man has been identified as the victim of Wednesday's fatal shooting in downtown Moline. Thursday, police released the name of 22 year old Corey Harrell.

They says Harrell was the target of "unknown offenders" who began shooting at him in the 21-hundred block of River Drive. And the shooting continued until he was fatally wounded near city hall - in the 15-hundred block of 7th Avenue.

Police blame what they call "an escalating dispute between two groups of individuals" for the shooting, and say they're looking for a newer model black SUV that drove away from the area, westbound on 7th Avenue.

Anyone with information about Harrell's death should call the Moline Police Department or Crimestoppers.
