Just a few residents of Scott County decided who will be on the November ballot for county board and sheriff. Turnout on Tuesday was 7.2 percent. That works out to 8,900 voters of the more than 124,000 registered in the county.
Democrats have chosen their two candidates for the Scott County Board - Scott Tunnicliffand Jane Duax.
Tunnicliff was an easy winner with 29 per cent of the vote while Duax only narrowly defeated Richard Clewell —20 percent to 19 percent, or a margin of just 90 votes.
Republicans made a clear choice for the board of supervisors — Tony Knobbefinished first with 29 percent, followed by Ken Beck at 20 percent. Third place finisher Glen Moeller was far behind with 14 percent.
Peter Bawden and Tim Lane will face each other in November for Scott County Sheriff. Both were easy winners in yesterday's primary.
Bawden won on the democratic side with 55 percent of the vote to 44 percent for LaMark Combs.
Republicans chose Tim Lane — he won 50 percent of the vote, to 25 percent for Thomas Gibbs, and 24 percent for Chad Cribb.
