If you get a phone call from the Illinois Sheriffs' Association asking for money, hang up. That's the message from the Illinois Sheriffs' Association which says it never raises money by phone.
The message was prompted by a phone campaign that's now underway, claiming to raise money for the association.
It says anyone who receives one of these calls should get as much information as possible from the caller, and report it to the local sheriff, or the the Illinois Sheriffs' Association (isa@ilsheriff.org).
